PNCC engaged Max Tarr to undertake a design-build based contract for the installation of the Aqseptence bandscreens and Nogwash screw presses that they had purchased.
PNCC had previously started installing these items by using a separate contractor, but ran into a number of issues with the initial design relating to performance, operation and maintainability of the equipment.
The work comprises the following components:
The detailed design of the screen room layout, screenings handling/bin loading systems and piping systems to enable efficient operation and maintainability.
Design, fabricate and install new screenings discharge launders for the 3 bandscreens
Modify the Aqseptence bandscreen screenings discharge chutes to suit new launder arrangements.
Modify the Nogwash screwpresses to suit the new launder arrangements.
Modify the Nogwashes drain hopper
Design and supply new nogwash augers
Install one Nogwash and remove and install a second nogwash
Design, fabricate and install new Nogwash compression tubes that discharge into a skip bin
Design, fabricate and install SS316 strengthening supports for the concrete channel walls
Modify the existing centre channel to allow for the installation of a third bandscreen
Supply and install wash water pipework
Design, fabricate and install a new skip bin support frame
Design, fabricate and install a new skip bin discharge chute system that allows the bin to be removed vertically.
Design, fabricate and install a new automated gravity launder diverter to divert Screen 2 discharge to either Screenings Nogwash 1 or Screenings Nogwash 2.
